The comment threads on conventional mainstream news sites are never particularly impressive, but the readers over at the Daily Caller may have the rest beat with the following exchange.
Commenting on an insane opinion post (read: propaganda) by notable war hawk Carl Levin titled “The most disgraceful episode in media-military relations since Vietnam,” the DC visitors offered further analysis of liberalism:
“My daughter left a conservative home environment to attend college six years ago. She changed her major during her second year, and received a BA in Global Studies…you know, one of those useless liberal degrees that you either teach to others or find other work. She was so indoctrinated that her mother and I didn’t recognize the little girl we raised.
Well, she worked for a short while as an assistant (read: secretary) to the dean of the local college, and decided to return to college for her MA degree. Colleges in the U.S. didn’t teach what she wanted a degree in and she went to the UK to pursue a degree in Migration and Economic Studies. Another worthless degree along the lines of Hispanic Studies, Women’s Studies, African American Studies, et al.
Another reader agreed:
“My daughter recognized the liberal claptrap early in her college career. She is now in veterinary college and will become a useful member of society. She also reads Ayn Rand. I didn’t try to indoctrinate her as a parent. She didn’t have anything to react against. Unfortunately, many students take years to realize that collectivism is evil.”
The most sane and reasonable visitor to ever read the Daily Caller had the balls to add a modification to reader #1′s critique of his or her daughter:
“The way I see it your daughter is a motivated, bright, curious young lady. I read your description of her and I am positive she will go far in life. All you did was put her choices down and criticize her. Maybe that’s why she believes in opposing points of views as yourself. Just saying.”
…And this visitor was immediately shut down, of course. This is the Daily Caller, edited by legendary hypocrite David Martosko, and therefore read by David Martoskos.
“you need to seek help and maybe leave the crack pipe alone”
